44.3.3 Uploading an image file by using FTP
You can upload an image from the switch to an FTP server. You can later download this
image to the same switch or to another switch of the same type.
Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to upload an image to an FTP
server:
DUT#configure terminal Enter global configuration mode.
DUT(config)#ftp username test (Optional) Create a user “test”.
DUT(config)#ftp password test (Optional) Create a password “test”.
DUT(config)#end Return to privileged EXEC mode.
DUT#copy flash:/boot/uImage.bin
Upload a system image file to remote FTP server.
User’s name is “test”, password is “test”.
44.4 Setting next boot image
You can set the next boot image.
Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps:
DUT#boot system flash:/boot/uImage.bin Set next boot image to “uImage.bin”
DUT#show boot images Verify your entries.
44.5 Deleting system image
Before you begin deleting an image file, do these tasks:
• Ensure that the image is not the current boot image.
• It is better to ensure that the image is not the next boot image.
Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps:
DUT#delete flash:/boot/uImage.bin Delete the image in flash.
DUT#show boot images Verify your entries.
